The Measure of a Family
Since William Cabell’s arrival in America in 1726, the Cabell family was among one of the first families of Central Virginia. The Cabell Family Papers in Swem’s Special Collections Research Center include correspondence, publications, genealogical records, literary manuscripts, accounts and land transactions, dating from 1693 to 1958. This exhibit showcases just a few of the Cabell documents in our holdings.
