Tribe Pride: William & Mary Athletics Media Guides

Location
Kaplan Arena
Duration
-
Tribe Pride: William & Mary Athletics Media Guides from Swem Library allows visitors to experience the history of intercollegiate sports at William & Mary through the athletics publications created to introduce teams and players.  Media guides range from mimeographed booklets in the early twentieth century to the sleek publications that journalists and sports fans have come to expect today.

The exhibit showcases the variety of formats produced, such as reversible guides for men’s and women’s sports, guides doubling as posters, and media guides resembling professional magazines currently produced for all teams in a similar style.  While not every media guide from each William & Mary sport could be included here, the exhibit presents a representative sample of the media guides held by Swem from a range of teams.

Do you have media guides, photographs, or other memorabilia from William & Mary athletics you are interested in donating to Swem?  Our wonderful special collections are due to the generosity of alumni, students, members of the William & Mary community, and the general public who have given personal or family papers, organizational records, memorabilia, and other items over the years. We continue to rely primarily on donations to build our collections to ensure that future alumni, students, and researchers have access to these rich sources of information about life at William & Mary. We would welcome donations related to William & Mary and our other collecting interests. For more information, visit Special Collections or contact us at spcoll@wm.edu or 757-221-3090.
