This unique collection of more than 80 books handmade by Cuban artisans from Ediciones Vigía in Matanzas, Ediciones El Fortín in Bellamar, and Cuadernos Papiro in Holguín exemplify the ability of Cubans to flourish creatively despite shortages of almost every resource from oil to paper. The books repurpose materials like aluminum cans, string, and cardboard spoons, and often begin with making the pulp for the paper.
