Swem has hired its first arts librarian. Kathleen DeLaurenti, who most recently worked as reference and instruction librarian at the University of Washington--Bothell, arrived at William & Mary in June. She is responsible for managing the music library and also serves as the library liaison to the departments of music, art and art history, and theatre, speech, and dance.
Kathleen holds an MLS from the University of Washington and a BFA in vocal performance from Carnegie Mellon University. A native of Pittsburgh, she is pleased to be back on the East Coast and excited to see that there are many Steelers fans in the area.
Don Welsh, Acting Director of Research, Instruction, and Outreach Services, and Kathleen’s supervisor, said “We were so lucky to get Kathleen to come here. She is wonderful to work with. She dove right in on day one and has already come up with several ideas to improve service. I hope everyone gets a chance to meet her this fall.”
