Swem Library will host an open house for attendees of the Williamsburg Reunion in the Special Collections Research Center on September 15, 2012 from 10 a. m. - 1 p. m. The group meets every two years. The Williamsburg Reunion is open to people who lived in Williamsburg 40 years before the date of each reunion -- thus, people who lived in Williamsburg, James City County, or upper York County before 1972 are now eligible to attend. Many people who live out of town make the trip back to see how the city has changed and to reconnect with old friends.
On display will be Williamsburg area memorabilia including yearbooks, phone books, a 1960s map of Williamsburg and family papers. There will be a digital slideshow of photographs emphasizing the 1960s-1970s. We hope these documents will trigger old memories as well as return visits to Swem!
