It might have been quiet in Swem Library during spring break, but there was a lot of activity happening within these walls, particularly regarding two of our collections.
During the break, Swem's DVDs migrated from the Cox Viewing Room on the ground floor to the area adjacent to the Circulation desk on the first floor. Stop by to peruse our collection of movies, television shows, documentaries and more. Checking out DVDs has become more convenient than ever!
Another move that occurred over spring break involves our juvenile collection. Swem is working with the Learning Resource Center (LRC) in the School of Education to revitalize this collection, which includes children’s books and young adult titles. We are creating a new collection in the LRC and reorganizing the collection in Swem. Over the break, the books in the collection, formally located on the second floor of Swem, were moved to an on-site storage area for sorting and processing, but you can still read them! If you need a book from the juvenile collection, visit Swem’s Circulation Desk to request it and our staff will retrieve it for you.
The processing of the juvenile collection is expected to last a few months given the size of the collection, and is slated to be completed by fall 2013. Once the project is complete, the collection will once again be available for open browsing and use at Swem and LRC.
