William & Mary welcomes Tom Marini as its new associate director of the McLeod Business Library at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary on September 10.
Marini comes to W&M from the University of Michigan, where he served as the associate business librarian for the university's Ross School of Business, providing research support to business faculty and students, working with students on course assignments and teaching sessions on library resources. He previously served as the business librarian at Kansas State University and librarian at Cleveland Public Library.
"We are so happy to welcome Tom to William & Mary. His experience working with students in the school of business at the University of Michigan is impressive, and he brings great new ideas, energy and enthusiasm to the McLeod Library," said Charlotte Brown, McLeod Library director.
Marini has a master degree in library science from Kent State University, a master degree in business administration from Baldwin Wallace College and a bachelor degree in history from the University of Akron.
As associate director, Marini will assist in the development and delivery of library services to business students and faculty, teach research skills to students and collaborate with faculty to incorporate library resources into classes.
"I was impressed by the people I met at Swem Library, the McLeod Library, and the Mason School of Business, as they discussed plans and innovations designed to not only sustain, but grow their respective footprints. There also appears to be a sense of community at William & Mary, as well as a dedication to teaching and research," said Marini.
