Works at…
I’m the Content and Social Media Coordinator in the External Relations Office at William & Mary Libraries.
Background…
I grew up in Charlotte, NC. This is my first time living outside of North Carolina, which has been a little sad, but I’m ready to start this new chapter. I have an older sister that I’m very close with, a dog named Henry and the newest addition is my cat, Fiddle (my camera roll is mostly pictures of my pets). When I’m not working, I love to read, go on runs, drink matcha lattes, cook & bake, play guitar, go to breweries, watch tv and movies, travel, and get unnecessarily competitive about board games.
Studied at…
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2024, where I studied journalism with a minor in American studies. Since I was a kid, I always wanted to be a storyteller. I think storytelling can create a big impact in every form whether that is writing, on the big screen, or a social media post. Storytelling is the greatest tool for building empathy and connection. My favorite way to tell stories is through documentary video and photo. If anyone is interested, I’ve produced three short docs and would love to share them.
Why W&M?
There’s something special about being on a college campus that I’ve always been drawn to. A value that is important to me is the idea that there is always room to learn throughout your life even when you’re not in the classroom. There is no better place to continue learning and to help others do the same than at a library. As a recent grad, I understand what students are looking for from their campus libraries and their desire to find safe community spaces when they aren’t in class. I want to be a part of the teams that help the campus community come together to build those safe spaces at Swem and accelerate their search for fun learning opportunities through media and communications.
